Thought For The Day - Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get. -
Dale Carnegie

As I've said before you never know what the day will bring when you live on a boat. Even in a marina rather than sailing on the high seas, every day brings something new. Today Charlie and I toured the 106 foot yacht tied up across the dock from us. As megayachts go this one was rather small but no less luxurious.

There was lovely wood paneling throughout the boat, even in the pilot house. The kitchen boasted two ovens, a full-sized refrigerator and a dishwasher. Of course when you're cooking for as many as 20 people, you really need all that. The boat was custom built for the owner and boasted a huge open deck space, unusual for a megayacht.

The boat also had huge stabilizers which are lowered pretty much all the time except when the channel is too narrow or the boat is in a marina. I was particularly impressed by the fact that the boat looked like people used it instead of keeping the boat perfect for constant chartering, as is the case with many megayachts. The boat mainly sails between the southeastern U.S. and the Bahamas on fishing trips.

Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. Stay safe.

Thought For The Day - Happy New Year 2007

Like many others, I'm making a couple resolutions this year: 1. update this blog daily with hopefully useful information and 2. make my web sites more productive with an eye to making enough money so I can start helping others.

Had 2 New Year's celebrations last night ending with the first ever New Year's Eve dock party in this marina. Most of the boats that are here now weren't here last year because the marina is new. The main dock is almost fully populated, and the floating docks will be ready soon. Several of our friends are coming in, and adding them to the friends already here, I see good times ahead even if we're not in an exotic port. Stay safe.
